Loja Weekly: Parfums de Marly Draws Bidders | 24–30 October 2026
A big week in luxury fragrance news: Parfums de Marly, the French house behind Layton and Delina, is drawing interest from major private equity funds and Spain's Puig at a valuation of close to €2 billion [1][2]. On the same day, Puig set out its plan to become the world's number-two fragrance player by 2032 [4]. Here are the global fragrance stories from 24 to 30 October 2026, and why they matter to fragrance lovers in the Gulf.
Deals and business
Parfums de Marly attracts CVC, Cinven and Puig
Reuters reported on 28 October, citing two people familiar with the matter, that Advent International, owner of Parfums de Marly since 2023, is exploring a sale, with CVC Capital Partners, Cinven and Puig among the suitors and the house valued at just under €2 billion [1]. Talks are ongoing, no deal is certain, and Puig appears the least active of the three [1][2]. For context, Parfums de Marly's retail sales rose 42% to $780 million in the year to March 2026 [3]. For the house's Gulf fans, the next owner will shape expansion and distribution in the years ahead.

Initio sits in the same group as Parfums de Marly; saffron, lavender and fir around a lighter oud.
Puig unveils Vision 2032: more than €8 billion
At its Capital Markets Day in Madrid on 28 October, CEO Jose Manuel Albesa set a goal of exceeding €8 billion in revenue by 2032 and becoming a top-four premium beauty company and a top-two fragrance player [4]. Niche is Puig's fastest-growing division, with plans to scale Byredo and Penhaligon's in the US and Asia while preserving exclusivity, plus a Charlotte Tilbury fragrance in 2028 [4]. In travel retail, Puig says it has climbed from sixth to third-largest fragrance player since 2021, lifting its share from 9.6% to 13.0% [4]. Even so, the shares fell 2.66% to €18.67 on the day [2]. Expect more launches from houses Gulf shoppers know well, such as Carolina Herrera, Jean Paul Gaultier and Rabanne.
Byredo Bal d'Afrique 100ml Absolu de Parfum
From Byredo, a key bet in Puig's plan: blackcurrant and praline over black amber and cedar, in a warmer Absolu for winter.
Coty bets on AI search
On 27 October Coty announced a partnership with Brandlight to boost its brands' visibility in AI assistants and generative search [7]. Executive Chairman and Interim CEO Markus Strobel said shoppers are moving from typed keywords to asking AI assistants for gift ideas or the best option for a need [7]. The takeaway: how people discover fragrance is changing, and reliable information on composition and perfumer matters more than ever.

Symrise: Scent & Care up 5.6%
German ingredients maker Symrise reported on 28 October organic Q3 growth of 5.3% to €1,310 million, with Scent & Care up 5.6% to €520 million [8]. Fine Fragrance grew at a low-single-digit rate, Europe/Middle East/Africa grew moderately while Asia Pacific grew by double digits, and the company reaffirmed 2–4% organic growth for the year, with Q4 expected to moderate [8]. Givaudan details its House of Naturals in Grasse
In a report published on 26 October, Givaudan detailed its House of Naturals programme, including Campus 52 in Grasse: 2.7 hectares, around €60 million of investment, opening in early 2028 [9]. The company has added 100 new ingredients in ten years, targets five a year, and runs tonka supply chains in Venezuela and patchouli in Indonesia [9]. Tonka and patchouli are pillars of the warm scents Gulf noses love, so steady supply shows up in what we smell.
